Quickcomm’s TEM Software Delivers an Immediate $150,000 Annual Savings

BACKGROUND

Quickcomm’s client is a leading global logistics company.  The company has approximately 400,000 employees worldwide. The total annual telecommunications spend in 2006 was in excess of US$100 million.

Client operations span the full US domestic and global market, with offices in all major cities. Local and Interexchange Carriers of all sizes, including all major telecom carriers, provide the complex suite of voice, data, and wireless services required to support the client’s business. Invoices are provided on optical disk, hard copy, and files generated by carriers.

“Quickcomm’s TEM software put all telecom inventory, billing, and ordering details in one place.  This gives us the reporting capabilities we need to manage by exception.”

The client’s TEM staff had no practical way to match inventory with invoices, identify incorrect billing for closed sites, or confirm that contracted rates were being properly applied by carriers.

SOLUTION

The organization recognized they needed to change the way telecommunications expenditure was being managed. They wanted to take control of their telecommunications spend, to implement a compliance system that would deliver visibility across the total organization, could manage inventory and deliver a complete management and reporting system. Quickcomm was chosen because of their “proven ability to execute” in the quickest timeframe thanks to the ease of deployment of their TEM software.

OUTCOME

The organization realized that their inability to manage their telecom expense was costing them potential savings by the day.

“We hardly had the Quickcomm application out of the box when we found more than $150k/year in telecom savings on wireless billing for one department alone.”

Quickcomm and client staff worked very closely during every step of the implementation to develop new business processes, assist with carrier liaison, deliver training, and ensure smooth integration with the client’s existing financial systems.

“Quickcomm’s performance during implementation has been exemplary. The system was ready-to-use in four months.”

The client is presently rolling out the Quickcomm and QCWeb applications to their total domestic operation.

“Within the first 90 days, Quickcomm was able to identify a potential of $2 million in savings in the first year.”
