Quickcomm, CorpoTel to offer telecoms management solutions
By Patrick Nixon
Business News America
US telecoms expense management (TEM) software and services provider Quickcomm and compatriot telecoms management solutions provider CorpoTel have allied to target carriers and enterprises in Latin America, the companies said in a joint statement.
As part of the agreement, CorpoTel will add TEM to its existing application service provider (ASP) and business process outsourcing (BPO) services.
Quickcomm's solutions include Quickcomm Enterprise, a next-generation software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution that provides automation across wireless, landline and data expense management systems.
CorpoTel combines telecom management methodologies, tools and resources to deliver various TEM and VoIP services, with a particular focus on mid-sized multinationals in Latin American countries.
Louis Crespo, Quickcomm's VP of product development and marketing told BNamericas that the Latin American market is seeing explosive growth and that big companies are investing an increasingly large percentage of their profits on telecommunications infrastructure and services.
Quickcomm tends to focus on companies that spend US$5mn-100mn a year on telecoms. The software is designed for both controlling telecoms bills, to create alerts about potential overcharging as well as provide inventory management to ensure a company is not buying the same equipment twice. All this leads to cost savings.
"We see major companies saying this is a top three line item of my expenses, this telecommunications investment that I've made. I don't really know how to manage this. Who can help me control what the best pricing is with the dozens of carriers? How do I implement these services and ensure that I'm not paying higher rates than I should be? Who can do that sort of benchmarking information for me?" Crespo said.
Quickcomm does not have specific priority countries of focus, rather its focus is on the companies that need the service. There is already one deployment with Exxon (NYSE: XOM) in Brazil and talks are being carried in Puerto Rico and other Caribbean countries.
