Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA) Offers New Educational Webcasts for Enterprises

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

The Telecom Expense Management Industry Association (TEMIA) (www.temia.org), the authoritative voice for the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) industry, announced that it is now offering educational webcasts for enterprises, government, and other organizations. These webcasts will feature different members of the association speaking on a range of topics which shall include information for organizations that are seeking to learn about telecom expense management solutions. Some of the material that will be presented includes best practices for a successful TEM program; Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); standards and benchmarks; overcoming the challenges of international TEM programs; wireless and mobility management for smart phones, PDAs, and mobile computing; inventory management; financial management; and other subjects that will respond to areas that enterprises want to learn about.

The first webcast is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14 at 11 AM Eastern Standard Time. This webcast titled, TEM 2.0 – What You Need to Know about TEM, will feature a primer on TEM with clear definitions that will provide a foundation for organizations. The presenters will also discuss outside pressures that drive TEM solutions. The objectives for this presentation include dispelling common misconceptions of TEM and providing best practices for successfully implementing a TEM program. Enterprises should register online for these webcasts at www.temia.org/resources/webcasts.

Michael Greenspan, chief executive officer for MBG (), a TEMIA member, explains, “We can help enterprises streamline their decision-making process through providing education. The better we define things, the more we can improve the entire market for enterprise customers as well as TEM providers.”

“Telecom expense management far exceeds what the term “expense” implies and impacts many key business critical functions such as IT, HR, vendor management and finance. There are many dynamic factors that affect the telecom industry including, technology advances, security issues and international regulations. Knowledge is crucial to success. This webinar series is a great way for organizations to stay abreast of the latest information and technological advances that drive our industry,” stated Mark Evans, chief executive officer of Quickcomm (www.quickcomm.com)

“The Telecom Expense Management industry has evolved, expanded and now it is ready to educate customers on how to extract the most value from TEM solutions. TEM is so much more than expense management: it is the convergence of wireline and wireless environments; applications; compliance; end user support; and financial management. TEMIA educational webcasts will not only inform, but empower the attendees with actionable financially justifiable solutions to every day issues and pain points,” stated Mark Goettling, president of Comstructure. (www.comstructure.com)

The upcoming webcasts will focus on fulfilling TEMIA’s central mission of promoting t he value of telecom expense management through education and marketing. One of the greatest challenges reported by TEM firms is lack of knowledge. Although organizations will need to register to participate in these webcasts, TEMIA’s primary goal for this initiative is education, not lead generation. TEMIA member companies are well positioned to address best practices, performance metrics, industry standards, and KPIs with member companies that are able to draw on experiences managing over $31 billion in telecom expenses on behalf of clients.

Enterprises should go to the TEMIA website (www.temia.org/resources/webcasts) to register for these upcoming webcasts.

TEMIA, the Telecom Expense Management Industry Association, was founded in late 2006 by the country’s largest Telecom Expense Management (TEM) service providers that cumulatively manage $31 billion of telecom and data spend. TEMIA’s mission is to raise awareness and knowledge of the benefits of TEM solutions, to improve the quality and value of TEM solutions through the development and promotion of industry standards, and to cultivate shared industry knowledge among TEM providers, business partners, telecom service providers, and enterprise clients. For more information about TEMIA please visit http://www.temia.org or contact info@temia.org.
